My name is Wendy Chase. I am running for State Representative in Laconia’s District 5 and would like to tell you about myself.
I was born and raised in New Hampshire and now live in Laconia. From 2018 to 2022, I served two terms in the NH House, representing Rollinsford and Somersworth.
I grew up in Hampton's North Beach in the same house my Great-Grandfather built. I attended Hampton public schools, graduated from Winnacunnet High School, and then attended Northeastern’s Forsyth dental program in Boston, part of Tufts School of Dentistry.
My husband and I have owned Avalon Promotions, a New Hampshire Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), for 23 years. My parents started the family business in Portsmouth in 1979. We have two office locations, Rollinsford and Laconia.
I am a mother of two, a son and a daughter. My Son, his wife, and their two amazing daughters are the highlight of my life! My daughter Erin was diagnosed at the tender age of 2 and a half, with Ewing’s Sarcoma, a rare and aggressive childhood cancer. When she was 3, she became physically disabled due to the removal of her right hip and radiation to her lower spine.
Throughout her life, I advocated for healthcare, the right to attend school, secure housing, and more. These issues were a constant part of our lives. In 2015, I became Erin’s guardian to better advocate for her and ensure her needs were met.
In 2018, the day before my first election, my beautiful daughter passed away at age 34 from complications of her childhood cancer, which had caused multiple health issues for her. With the knowledge I gained from fighting for my daughter’s rights and care, I’ve taken a stance to be the best advocate I can for others.
I proudly run for my first term as a New Hampshire State Representative for Laconia District 5.
Let me be your voice, A voice for change!
We watch people being left behind and falling through the “cracks” of our systems, just as my family did after my daughter’s battle with childhood cancer: medications, long-term care needs, housing, and food insecurity. With my personal experience driving me, I have made it my mission to support all members of our community by taking your issues and concerns right to the State House.
Join me and together we will make a difference!
